The guide

A compass,
not a master

Ask it something. It answers only out of what Ethos has written, it says which kind of knowing it is standing on, and it gives you the pages so you can check it. When we have not written about a thing, it says that instead of inventing an answer.

What it will not do
  • It will not diagnose you, suggest a treatment, or estimate a dose. Those are questions for a doctor, and it will say so.
  • It will not tell you that you are broken, behind, or less awake than anybody else.
  • It will not push a product or a membership at you, and it earns nothing if you buy one.
  • It will not pretend to be certain. It is allowed to say the evidence is thin, that a use is traditional rather than proven, and that it does not know.
  • It does not remember you between questions. That is on purpose.

It is a machine reading our own pages back to you. It gets things wrong, which is why the sources sit under every answer. Read them.
